HyperOffice provides a business class Email service. This article will outline the several different ways to get your Email from our servers to your mobile device.

Your Browser

The easiest way to get your Email on your handheld is to use your data plan and browser. Most handheld devices will have a built in browser for accessing the Internet.
To Use: Just point your browser to your portal login page (like you would normally do if you were at a desktop computer). Our system recognizes that you are using a handheld and the screen will be sized correctly for you.

Set up Forwarding

If your mobile device already has an Email address you can have HyperOffice "Forward a Copy" of every Email you receive directly over to your device.

To Use:

  • Log in to your HyperOffice account.
  • Click on Settings
  • Click on Email
  • Scroll down to the bottom and click on "Configure Auto Responder\Forwarding"
  • In the "use forwarding:" section, Select "Forward A Copy"
  • Enter the Email address given to you by your handheld provider. If you have a Blackberry, it will probably be something like \n // --> This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . If you have a Treo or something else, it will be a different address. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
  • Click "Update Information".

Use your mobile device mail client

To set up Email this way, you first need to determine if your handheld device supports POP3 or IMAP (or both). Then you will need to configure your mail client accordingly. NOTE: There are many different types of handheld devices and mail clients out there. For this reason, we cannot issue direct support for them. However, there should be enough information from the settings below to set them up correctly. Please contact the support line for your device if you have issues getting it set up.

If you would like to use IMAP, the following settings should be used-
Incoming server: IMAP.hyperoffice.com
Incoming username: Your entire HyperOffice Email address
Incoming password: your HyperOffice password

If you would like to use POP3, the following settings should be used-
Incoming server: POP.hyperoffice.com
Incoming username: Your entire HyperOffice Email address
Incoming password: your HyperOffice password

NOTE: In both cases, the default settings and port numbers should stay the same. Also, HyperOffice does not provide an Outgoing Server for sending. The Outgoing server, username, and password should be provided by your handheld provider.

Troubleshooting:

All of my mail is in my handheld now, but I don't see it on the web when I log into HyperOffice.
A:You are probably using POP3 with your device. Sometimes POP3 users select a setting that says "download messages from server". If you have this set, then your messages are taken off of HyperOffice and put directly on your phone. To fix, make sure your phone settings are "Leave messages on the server". Please contact your handheld provider if you cannot find this setting on your device. You could also switch to a different method like IMAP or Forwarding to get your mail.

Which method should I use to see all of my different mail folders (not just the Inbox)?
A: You will want to use your handheld browser to get your Email (option 1 in this article) or use IMAP to get access to all of your folders located in HyperOffice. POP3 connections will only download from the Inbox, and forwarding does not deal with folders.

My IMAP or POP3 connection is not connecting at all.
A: Please make sure you are using your entire Email address for your username. If you have customized Email with us, it should be something like: \n // --> This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . If you do not have customized Email with us, it will be like: \n // --> This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
